If the problem can not be solved using smaller models, document the motivation why only a LLM can provide a solution for your use case and prove that the solution is business-aligned. As a next step, consider the of an open source LLM which can be hosted and evaluated locally on the infrastructure of Digiteam. Adhering to the Flanders AI strategy we defined a set of criteria for each of the six principles to evaluate popular OS LLM families. When choosing a model, consult the scores, and try to stick models which have the higher scores. If models with bad scores are used, there must be a very clear motivation on why the same can not be achieved by models families with higher scores. Note that the scores can not be summed up and serve as a ranking, they provide a general assessment of a model family. |
